Visiting Lanzarote in winter is certainly a winning choice to get away from the cold of the continental winter and enjoy clear colors and clear skies, but you need to carefully prepare your suitcase.
Lanzarote is a small island located in the middle of the ocean and is approximately 125 kilometers from the coast of Africa and 1,000 kilometers from the Iberian Peninsula. It is the easternmost of the Canary Islands.
Here the climate is temperate all year round but the different seasons and the different areas of the island - north or south - bring with them quite important temperature changes.
With the arrival of November, the weather in Lanzarote starts to get a little cooler, temperatures usually vary between 18°C and 24°C. during the day but in the evening the temperature even drop to 12° or 13° at night.
Sunny days without wind allow you to wear t-shirts and shorts and particularly hot days also allow you to enjoy the beaches and swim, especially in the south: Playa Blanca and the beaches of the natural park have an exposure that makes them warmer and more pleasant even in winter. The sea water is fresh but when the days are beautiful, a nice swim in its crystal clear waters is highly recommended.
However, towards the evening the temperature drops and reaches 12° at night, as happens in Morocco. This phenomenon is much more accentuated in the north and inland. This is why in your winter luggage, in addition to a swimsuit, t-shirt and shorts, you must not miss a sweatshirt, a wool sweater, long trousers, a down jacket, even a light one or a set of technical clothing, useful for protecting yourself from evening temperatures, humidity and wind.
The houses in Lanzarote are not equipped with heating, but with simple electric stoves or fireplaces. So even at home in the evening, it is pleasant to wear wool shawls and sweaters.
NOT TO FORGET: - TREKKING or sports SHOES, to enjoy the wonderful walks that the island offers - SUNGLASSES - the light dazzles even in winter.
If you're missing something, don't worry! In the big cities, Puerto del Carmen or Arrecife - the capital of Lanzarote - you can find everything: lots of clothing shops and shopping centers where you can buy both heavy clothing and technical-sports clothing.
All you have to do is pack your suitcase and enjoy your trip to Lanzarote!
